So things panned out for that one. Things were goin’ smooth as silk...until earlier today. It was around 6pm when the boss called me into her office. Now the boss is a forty year old ice queen. She takes care of what she likes and does away with what she doesn’t. Now one thing was she liked me. I’m no one’s plaything, but I know opportunity when I see it. So I used to indulge her when she wanted. But anyway she’s about 5' 8" with short black hair and two glacier blue eyes. She’s got this pet Doberman Pincher that followers her everywhere. That is one of her lap dogs. The other was this SOB named Chaos. He and I never got along. That’s not to say I didn’t respect him; I respected the hell outta him I just couldn’t stand the guy! His partner Shaow, though cute as a button and deadly w/ daggers. She was always fun to hang around. But I’m getting ahead of myself. So I go into her office and she says that she has a new job for me. Seems that the city of Sunset Valley Bioresearch facility had somehow pissed her off and she wanted me to blow it up tonight. One problem: the Summers lived in that city and Pop Summers worked at that building. I owe them too much to do something like that to them. when she insisted I decided it was time to leave...for good!

 

“You can’t leave,” she said.
“Watch me,” I countered. Then, “I don’t want you doing anything to my partners or family in retrabution. If so much as one hair on their heads is damaged I will spill everything to the cops. I can get by on a plea bargain. You can’t”
“You wouldn’t”
“yes, but I won’t if u keep your end. Now I am getting out, and if you know what’s good for you then you’ll keep your hands offa them!”
She scowled and nodded, “ this won’t be the end of this, Bluerose.”
“I know but you are to take it out on me, not them.” with that I turned and left.
In the hall I ran into the Redlily.
“Red,” I whispered. She stopped and I went up to her and hugged her.
“BR, what’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I have to leave,” I whispered in her ear, my voice beginning to waver.
“What?”
“I can’t be a Dark Horse anymore. I’ve made up my mind,” I pulled away and kissed her trembling lips. I felt her tears hitting my cheek and deepened the kiss. “My love, my dear sweet Redlily, please understand.”
She nodded.
“I got this ring before I left the Tsunami City Dojo,” I said removing the ring, “this is the one worldly possession that I treasure above all others.” I placed it in her hand and kissed her cheek, “I will return; for it ... and for you. Tell Iuni that I’m sorry and to be strong.”
“Y-yes, Wave.”
“Thank you....Elizabeth.” and with that I left and “Borrowed” a light sniper rifle and some equipment. I had to stop the hit on the Bio center.

 

The hit wasn’t to take place for another few hours so I stopped by my favorite bar for a drink. It was the one that Iuni and I always stopped at after a job; the “What Ales You Bar”.  There they knew me as Ty Tokanota, a fighter wannabe and engineering major. I opened the door and was a little relieved to see that the bar was nearly empty, I didn't want much company at the moment. The owner, Specialist, was sitting behind the bar reading a magazine and the one waitress, Mia, was skating around giving people their orders. There was an air force general laying passed out in a booth, the man had always had a reputation for heavy drinking, mainly a strong liquor known as Blue Gin. <<ooc: and now begins cameos. Gee I wonder who the air force general is *rolls eyes*>> His commanding officer was sitting at a table drinking some Shadow Ale. The two pilots both belonged to a local squadron known as Shadow Squadron. The commander had often tried to talk me into enlisting but never succeeded. Sitting against a wall in the back was a 13 year old hacker. She is one of the top three in the world. The top is Iuni followed by this hacker; her handle is Gpilot06, and some boy who went by the net name Pluto. Pluto, though never had much interest in anything but androids and left the world alone for the most part.
I walked over to GP and sat next to her. She was the only one who knew who I really was. She wasn't a Dark Horse and she kept her clients confidential.
“I need floor plans, guard schedules, and security data for the Sunset Valley Bioresearch facility.”
“Hmmm? Why not get them from Iuni?”
“Long story. Are you going to help me or not? I’ll pay double.”
She sighed and opened her laptop, “gimmie 15min to get all the data. Send it to the usual e-mail address?”
“Yeah. I’ll get it.” I pointed to the unit in my eye. I winked at her and moved to a table near the commander.
“Mia, I need something stronger tonight.”
“Ok Ty, pick your poison.”
“Ahhh what’s that George Thurogood song? Oh yeah, Mia I’ll have a Bourbon, a scotch, and a beer please.”
“Thing that bad, huh?”
“Tough times,” I said smiling.
She skated away and the commander leaned back in his chair. “Cheer up, Ty. Hey, now, where’s that girlfriend of your’s? Unishi?”
“I won’t be seeing her for a long, long time. And I might not see any of you ever again.”
“Moving?”
“Yes, in a sense.”
Mia returned with my drinks and I finished them one after another. I know my tolerance like the back of my hand and for a 17 year old I have a pretty high one. I only enough to give me a slight buzz and not hinder my activities. The eye module displayed a message saying I had mail from GP. I excused myself and walked to the back where she was sitting reading the local news paper. I sat down next to her. “Thank you. This means a lot to me.”
“Good, then tell me what’s going on.”
“If I survive tonight then you shall hear all.” I got up and set a stack of money on the table. She folded the paper and set it over the cash. I flashed her my lopsided grin and winked before leaving.

 

It took me a while to get to the building and scope out a good location. There was a fog rolling in and I was very glad I brought night vision goggles with me. That and since winter is fast approaching the days are shortening. It was dark by the time the van pulled up. It was soon followed by a motorcycle. I would reacognize that engine anywhere. It belonged to Chaos and Shaow. Four grunts entered the building leaving 2 outside with Chaos and Shaow. I set the timer on my presents to them for 5 seconds and went back to monitoring the ones outside. Inside I had left poison roses set on time delay. The gas was quick acting and deadly.  Those fools would not even have time to scream.
I saw one of the figures in my goggles move from the building to the bike and light a cigarette. This seemed more of Shaow’s style than Chaos’s. I wished to spare her. She was a friend and I wished nothing on her but good luck.
I sighted in the tallest of the 3 other shapes. That one would be chaos. “See you in hell, lapdog.” I squeezed off a shot that struck the figure in the back of the neck. The figure collapsed. I squeezed off 2 more taking out the other two and I left. I decided against taking the gun and goggles with me. They made me stand out too much. Not that the blue hair and physique are any less suspicious. I didn’t get two blocks from the thing when I ran into an old “Friend” of mine. His name was Romeo Firefield and he was a decent fighter. Anyways I turn the corner and who do I see? Well that prick of course.
“‘ey finally I find you. Ya damn punk. ‘Ere’s a $50,000 boun’y on yer ‘ead”
“Hn, I see that much? Well, well, she really does want me back. But unfortunately for her I have no intention of going back.”
“We’ll see about ‘at”  
he lunged in for a quick blow to my mid section but met my knee instead. His jaw popped as his teeth slammed into one another. I followed with a jab to his stomach and roundhouse kick to his face.
“Tell your keeper that she’ll have to do batter than this. Also, tell her that I will kill anyone else who comes after me.”
“You bastard, Ah’ll ‘ee you rot in ‘ell” He attempted to get back up but a palm to the forehead convinced him to take a little nap.
I moved on. More would soon follow that prick. Rooftops are faster, I thought . So I climbed a fire escape and started roof hopping. I was at the corner of 5th Ave. And throne street when I heard a voice behind me.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the Bluerose. Remember me you little cretin?”
 I turned around and came face to face with my old instructor, Jon Soldat. He had a gun drawn and pointed right at my heart. I spun and drew mine.
“On three?” I asked.
“Sounds about right.”
It began to pour. Raining cats and dogs and all that. <<Don’t step in a poodle ^.^>>
“One,” I said
“two,” he followed
“THREE!”
We both fired. My bullet ripped through his throat causing him to spew blood as he fell to the rooftop. His missed my heart and implanted itself into my shoulder. The force of the impact threw me off balance and I fell over the edge of the roof. I landed in the gutter.
It’s been about 30 min. since that happened. Now my clothes are soaked with rainwater and blood and my vision is becoming blurry. Ahhhh screw it, I could use a nap. And then every goes dark.

Well that’s the end of the Bluerose part of the story. This is from one of my very first story ideas. The one that eventually made Wave Summers into the character that he is. I have an EPILOGUE for this story and I’m gonna e-mail it to Fasty right after this.

EPILOGUE 

 

He walked through the dark rainy night.  The smell of the air was just perfect for him. It was dark. "Perfect! The night is always perfect here." He walked through the rain spying his destination. He grinned as he saw his target. Unconsciously his had touch the hilt of the knife he kept hidden in his jacket sleeve.

 

Sabrina Yamatina finished locking her dojo after yet another day of battling those who wished to earn her badge. She let out a long sigh. This had been an unusually rough day. She was exhausted! Her ESP level hadn't lowered.  She was thankful for that. Usually when she was this tired she could barely levitate a piece of paper. "Are You the leader of this Dojo,” a voice asked from behind her. It startled her and secretly she wondered why she had not sensed him approach.
"I am she,” Sabrina replied. The dark figure stepped into the dull light provided by a run down street lamp. It was a tall man wearing all black. He had a baseball cap pulled low over his eyes.
"I'm here for a match,” he said. His voice was low and calm. Sabrina thought she caught a glimpse of a grin in the dim light.
"I'm sorry but we're closed for the day."
"Fine I'll come back tomorrow,” he said. The man vanished from her sight. She tried to reach out with her telepathic powers but could not sense him. She could only sense the car that was pulling up to the curb. The door to the white sports car opened.
"You ready,” asked her boyfriend. He was a tall muscular man with short red hair and blue eyes. His name was Flame and he worked at the dojo defeating as many people as he could before they reached Sabrina.
She slid into the passenger seat and put her head back, closing her eyes. Flame drove her home without saying a word. She could sense that he wanted to say some thing but she didn't ask. He dropped her off at her house. As she left the car he cast a worried glance in her direction. "You Ok?"
"Yes, just a little tired I suppose," she replied. he waited for her to go inside before he pulled away. Sabrina glanced inside her fridge trying to find something to eat. she took out a container of blueberry yogurt and got a spoon. after her snack she moved into the bedroom and undressed. al the while a nagging question stayed in the back of her mind. who was that man and what is going to happen tomorrow?

 

he sat in a tree branch the leaves protecting him from the rain. "until tomorrow, I bid you a good night Miss Yamatina", the man said chucking to himself.
